• Stillupsee (1,300 m): A traffic-calmed route along a crystal-clear mountain lake with alpine huts and flexible access (bus transfer to Gasthof Wasserfall).
• Wimmertal (1,100 m): A picturesque hike to the Wimmertalalm with a small playground – a perfect family destination.
• Schönachtal near Gerlos (approx. 1,200 m): A sun-kissed valley, ideal for relaxed walks with breathtaking views.

Tip! The Zillertal offers ideal excursions at moderate altitudes. A favorite among young families: a family bike tour along the Ziller River to the most beautiful playgrounds in the valley. Why? For infants under one year old, staying above 1,800 meters for extended periods is not recommended, as they cannot yet regulate pressure changes on their own.

We are happy to offer you high-quality mountain and city bikes from the premium brand Corratec for rent.

The rental fee is €20 per day for adults and €10 per day for children, each including a bike helmet. We have a wide variety of sizes available – including special bikes for children with 16-inch and 20-inch wheels – so you and your family can enjoy great outings together without the need to bring your own bikes on vacation. For younger children who are not yet able to ride on their own, we offer safe child seats. Of course, we also provide emergency kits and additional bike helmets. If you bring your own bike, you can use our modern bike area with a fully equipped bike room and wash station. Our hotel has everything a biking enthusiast could wish for.

The Family Bike Path – directly at our bike hotel | The Zillertal Cycle Path is one of the most popular bike paths in Tyrol – perfect for families. It runs alongside the Ziller River and offers a variety of exciting cycling tours for all ages. A bike tour along the Ziller is an unforgettable experience and can easily be combined with a visit to some of the most beautiful playgrounds in the Zillertal. If you're in the mood for a refreshing break, the idyllic Schlitterer Lake is just 8 km away, ideal for a cool-down in one of the most beautiful natural swimming lakes. Directly along the bike path, you'll also find the newly established mini golf course at the Zell am Ziller leisure park, where young and old can try their luck on the varied courses. If your legs get tired, you can conveniently return to Kaltenbach by taking the Zillertalbahn.
