How do I get to Kaltenbach in the Zillertal by car?

  • When arriving by car from Germany via Munich (A8 and A93) to Kufstein via the border to Austria.
  • Leave the toll motorway (A12) at the Wiesing exit and then simply follow the Zillertal federal road B 169 to Kaltenbach (approx. 17 km from the beginning of the valley)
  • Toll-free arrival is possible from Kufstein on the federal road (B 171)
  • TIPA toll-free arrival via Holzkirchen and the Achenpass is a very interesting alternative (in winter only if the weather is good)
  • From November 1st toApril 15th, winter tires are mandatory in Austria in winter driving conditions. Winter tires are definitely recommended during this time.
  • Having the snow chains in the trunk can never hurt as a safety reserve!

  • Traveling by train to zillertal is an excellent and environmentally friendly option, especially in winter when you can travel to the Ziller Valley stress-free and without traffic.
  • From Munich, you travel via the state border at Kufstein to Jenbach Station, which is the connection point to the Zillertal Railway.
  • The Zillertal Railway runs almost every half hour and takes about 30 minutes to reach Kaltenbach/Stumm Station.

What should I consider when traveling by plane? Is there a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel in the Ziller Valley?

Traveling by plane is a convenient option for international guests arriving at Munich, Salzburg, or Innsbruck airports. If you're wondering what to do next, we don't offer our own shuttle service from the airports, but we recommend booking Tirol Taxi online. They provide excellent service at attractive prices and will take you directly from the airports to our nature hotel in the Ziller Valley.

Where can I find the nearest doctor in Kaltenbach? Is there a pharmacy near the hotel?

There are several doctors in close proximity to our hotel. The medical center and Dr. Alexander Binder's practice (General Practitioner) are just about 400 meters away. The nearest pharmacy in Kaltenbach is located at the roundabout in Kaltenbach and can be reached in just a few minutes by car. In case of mountain or ski accidents, Kaltenbach also has its own helicopter landing pad to ensure rapid assistance. Medical care is provided by the Schwaz District Hospital as well as private clinics such as the Zillertal Sports Clinic, Kettenbrücke Innsbruck, and Sanatorium Hochrum.

Where can I find the nearest supermarket and shopping options?

In Kaltenbach, you'll find everything you need for daily essentials! About 500 meters from the hotel, there are M-Preis and Braunegger supermarkets offering a wide selection of food and branded products. You'll also find two butcher shops offering regional meat specialties. For families with children, the largest toy store in the Ziller Valley is located in the town center.
